With our busy lives and many commitments, it can often be hard to find the time to spend the afternoon relaxing at a spa. Luckily, there are some great home spa treatments, that you can quickly and easily put together yourself, for a pampering experience that is not only more fun and convenient, but also much more cost effective.

Conditioning Hair Mask
A deep conditioning treatment on a regular basis is something that every hair type can benefit from. For an easy hair mask using easy-to-find ingredients, mix together 1 egg yolk, with a quarter of an avocado, 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Finally, add in a small amount of your usual hair conditioner, and then apply this mixture to your hair for one to two hours. The egg yolk gives your hair extra protein, while the avocado and oil nourishes it, and the mayonnaise and conditioner helps to naturally de-tangle it, leaving your hair softer and shinier once you wash the mask off.

Creamy Face Mask
Stress can often cause our faces to look red and blotchy, but this is easily taken care of with a good face mask. Mash up one banana, as this contains Vitamins A and E, perfect for reducing flakiness and redness, and then mix this with 1.5 tablespoons each of honey and flour. Mix in 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, as this contains elastin, which will leave your face feeling soft and supple. Finally, add in 1 tablespoon of water, just a little at a time, until you get a good consistency. Apply this to your face and then wash it off after ten minutes, for skin that instantly feels much more refreshed.

Cleopatra Milk Bath
Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile, was an avid user of ‘home beauty’ treatments, with one of her favorites being a relaxing milk bath. To create this at home, pour some boiling water over 1 tablespoon each of dried rosemary and mint, plus the peel of one orange, allowing it to gently steep until it has cooled. Strain the liquid and mix this with one box of dried milk, before pouring this mixture into your bath under the running water. After soaking, rinse your skin to ensure that there are no remaining traces of milk, and then OROGOLD suggests that you apply a light layer of a natural oil, such as almond or coconut.

Refreshed Eyes
There are plenty of natural everyday products that you can use to refresh your eyes, but OROGOLD favorites are cucumber slices or green tea bags, as these are high in antioxidants. Place these over your eyes and relax, and you will find that your eyes will look and feel brighter and more refreshed.

Home spa treatments have been around for years, and there are plenty of different recipes that you can adapt and create for skin and hair treatments. OROGOLD recommends that you find a few treatments that work well for you and use them on a regular basis for best results.
